TRANS AWARENESS WEEK - AND THE 1% THAT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE!

If you’re looking for a speaker this Trans Awareness Week, someone who is one of the “others,” someone who can challenge perspectives, inspire courage, and show what’s possible beyond the boundaries of “normal” - then maybe I’m your girl!

Because I am one of the “Others”!

I am different.

We don’t like different much, do we?

Different is scary.  Different is confronting.  Different challenges us.  Different can be threatening, requiring us to question our beliefs about the world and our identities within it.

People find my difference, my non-conformity, confronting.

My very existence can be challenging.

I meet all sorts of people.  Some say, “You’re so brave.”  Others say, “I don’t get it.”  And still others say nothing at all.

Which category are you?

What does “different” mean to you?

Is it “scary opportunity for growth” different or “scary retreat into hiding” different?

Yes, I am different.  But I am also 99% the same.

But that 1% that’s different - in that 1%, there’s one helluva story!

Because in that 1%, there is a journey to inspire, extraordinary insights about the world, and powerful new perspectives that no one else could possibly see.

In that 1% lies a story of struggle and hope, of adversity and triumph, of fear and courage, and sheer bloody determination to discover who I truly am, to discover my authentic self.

That 1% led me to personal power, liberation, and freedom.

You’ve gotta be curious, surely.

You’ve gotta ask, “How did you do it, Bobbi?”

•  “How did you face the fear and come out stronger on the other side ?”

•  “How did you reinvent yourself, transitioning from failing and unsuccessful to empowered and thriving in just a couple of years ?”

•  And, “How can I do that too?”

Mine is a dream-come-true story. It all started with a hope, a vision, and the belief I always had that I was here for more.
